It all started when…

In the summer of his 10th birthday, David’s parents asked him if he’d like to take piano lessons. He replied “sure”. This auspicious beginning quickly turned into a serious preoccupation, and by the time David started high school, he knew he wanted to be a musician when he grew up.

David went to Warner Pacific College (now University), earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music, and learning deeper about music, teaching, and the value of caffeine. He continued his studies at Portland State University, earning a Master of Music in Piano Performance, where he also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, and completed extensive study in the use of photocopying.

His professional career includes private teaching in the areas of piano, theory, and composition; accompanying vocal and instrumental performances; recording, arranging, and other technological musical assistance; and extensive involvement in church music.

David has been increasingly involved in music technology, delving into the fields of music notation, digital keyboard sound production, and music video creation. Most recently, he has developed extensive resources for teaching lessons online remotely, including specific curriculum, processes, and technological systems. He is working to deploy those resources in training other teachers how to thrive in remote lessons.

David and Sherri have been married since May 2013. They have 3 boys.
